Heartstruck at Dawn

 It felt like coming back to an old friend -- or perhaps more accurately, reuniting with a number of old friends. I thoroughly enjoyed Andrade's debut novel and became quickly attached to her many characters, plot lines, and subplots. She picks right back up where she left off in the sequel here, and again, I was all the better off for it as the reader. We learn more about the characters we know and love already, but she also introduces us to many new characters as well. Andrade has such a natural ability with dialogue, character development, and pacing. She also knows how to pull at your heartstrings and have you experiencing the full spectrum of emotions when it comes to her fictional world and the people who inhabit it. I highly recommend this book! As much as I loved the first one, I loved this one even more. And while the ending was extremely satisfying (though gut-wrenching), I cannot wait to dive back into Billie's universe in Awestruck at Dawn (book #3). Counting down the days till that release already.

I just...I'm not ready to talk about it.  Alejandra's storytelling ability is so captivating, you will truly feel immersed in Billie's world. It is sexy, sophisticated, and so entertaining.

 Like a wild ride I never knew what to expect next and I wasn’t mad about it. (Though there were some hard pills to swallow along the way 😩.)  Andrade has a way of building her stories and plots in such a way that you’re hanging on to every word.  Series books are usually hard for me because I tend to lose interest after book one. The first book is often so great that the next books just fall short. That wasn’t the case in this series at all. Billie’s growth as a character definitely played a big role in that. And that ending…As an author, and after reading the note to readers…I get it. I really do. But, fair warning…have tissues on hand.  I just want to know what happens next! No…I NEED TO KNOW!!!  Things I loved about this series: 

- Protective love interest who is more than he appears. 

- A story about character growth and self-discovery (as I said, Billie grows a lot in book two.) 

- A little bit of everything wrapped up into one beautiful package. 

- Plenty of love interests to choose from! (I’m always a sucker for the bodyguard type myself, but they each come with their own unique appeal as the story unfolds.) 

- Action, adventure, mystery, and passion (lots of spice and variety all around!)

Honestly I loved how unpredictable this was, I was NOT expecting that ending! I love Alejandra’s writing style and how she has made each of Billies relationships so unique and special that for two whole books I was struggling to pick which love interest I loved more. I love the character development in Heartstruck at Dawn, the drama, the romance, everything was just happening and I didn’t want it to end! Can’t wait for book 3! 😍🌙🌙
